Storage wasps and storage wasps are tiny, specialized beneficial insects for the biological control of stored product pests such as grain beetles, flour beetles or moth larvae in stored products.
Storage wasps (Xylocoris flavipes) actively hunt pests such as beetle larvae and moth larvae, while storage wasps (e.g. Anisopteromalus calandrae) specifically parasitize eggs and larvae of storage pests.
No, both are completely harmless. They are not visibly active, do not sting, and discreetly leave the affected area after their work is done.
Storage wasps feed on the pests directly, while storage wasps lay their eggs inside the pest eggs, preventing the pests from developing further.
Initial effects may be visible after 1–2 weeks. Complete disruption of the life cycle of stored product pests typically takes 3–6 weeks.
Yes, preventive use is recommended, especially in regularly infested storage areas or for sensitive stocks
We ship Monday through Thursday. Delivery typically takes 1–3 business days to ensure fresh, live produce.
The beneficial insects are delivered in small tubes that already contain parasitic wasp pupae or active wasps. The tubes can be easily placed in the storage area.
Yes, the tubes should be opened immediately upon receipt and placed at the site of infestation. Refrigeration is not recommended.
Since these are sensitive live goods, delivery to packing stations is not suitable.
We currently only ship within Germany.
Place the opened tube directly into the infested pantry or storage area. The insects will leave the tube on their own and actively search for pests.
Depending on the infestation, a single application may be sufficient. In cases of severe or recurring pest pressure, a second application after 2–3 weeks may be advisable.
Room temperatures of 18–28 °C are ideal. Be careful not to use chemicals at the same time, as these can harm the beneficial insects.
In the pantry, on shelves or between infested food – as close as possible to the pest sources.
Once food runs out, the animals die after a few days. They decompose inconspicuously and leave no residue.
Yes, they can be combined well with parasitic wasps against moths if both beetle larvae and moths are present.
