STORAGE WASPS AGAINST BREAD BEETLES, RICE BEETLES & CO. – YOUR NATURAL WEAPON IN THE PANTRY

Our GREEN GUARDIA storage wasps are the unobtrusive and highly effective solution for biological control of stored product pests such as bread beetles, grain beetles, tobacco beetles, rice beetles, and many other beetle species. Completely chemical-free, residue-free, and 100% safe for humans and pets.

The tiny beneficial insects actively parasitize the pest larvae before they can develop further. One tube contains at least 40 wasps and is sufficient for approximately 10 m² of space—ideal for kitchens, pantries, warehouses, or historic buildings.

SUITABLE AGAINST:

  • Bread beetles, grain beetles, rice beetles, tobacco beetles
  • Corn beetle, grain capuchin, herb thief
  • Brass beetle, ball beetle, bean beetle, grain moth

HOW STORAGE WASPS WORK:

The storage wasps reliably detect and parasitize the larvae of the pests in stored goods – even at depths of up to 4 m. The integrated mix of species ensures that they are active in both cold and warm temperatures.

After successful work, the beneficial organisms disintegrate without leaving any residue – without any visible traces or unpleasant odors.

FAQs

Storage wasps are tiny, flightless beneficial insects that specialize in controlling stored product pests such as bread beetles, grain beetles, and rice beetles. They specifically seek out beetle larvae and parasitize them, thereby killing the pests.

They are ideal for controlling bread beetles, grain beetles, rice beetles, tobacco beetles, ball beetles, corn beetles, herb thieves, grain capuchins, bean beetles, brass beetles and the grain moth.

No, larvae wasps are completely harmless to humans, pets, and other beneficial insects. They are tiny, don't sting, and disappear without a trace once their work is done.

Depending on the temperature and the development stage of the beetle larvae, initial results can be seen after just a few weeks. Application over several months significantly improves the effect.

Yes, they can be combined well with parasitic wasps or warehouse pirates, for example, to cover a broad spectrum of pests.

The animals are only 0.3–0.4 mm in size and behave very inconspicuously. They usually work in secret and die without leaving a trace when they no longer find host larvae.

They come alive in small plastic tubes that can be opened directly at the site of infestation.

One tube contains more than 40 chalcid wasps – to compensate for possible losses during transport or after application.

Best used immediately upon receipt. For short-term storage, store for a maximum of 1–2 days at 8–12°C in a cool, dark place.

Yes, as long as the room temperature is at least 16°C. They are ideal for heated pantries and kitchens.

In case of severe infestation, we recommend regular deliveries at intervals of approximately 3-4 weeks in order to catch all beetle generations.

Yes, we package the tubes securely for transport – and deliberately include more beneficial organisms to ensure sufficient effectiveness, even if some do not make it to their destination.

Simply open the tube near the infested supplies, cabinets, or shelves. The chalcid wasps will begin searching for beetle larvae.

We recommend 1 tube per 10 m² of affected area or per closed unit such as a pantry or closet.

Initial successes often appear after a few days, but the complete decline of pests takes 2-4 weeks, depending on the severity of the infestation.

Yes, especially in vulnerable storage areas, preventive use is useful to prevent re-infestation.

Allow the chalcid wasps to work actively for at least 2–3 weeks. If the infestation is severe or recurring, you should repeat the treatment.

The storage wasps can also detect and control beetle larvae in narrow cracks or deep in packaging material – even at depths of up to four meters.

No, they specialize exclusively in pests and do not cause any damage to furniture or materials.

Pest activity visibly decreases – less feeding damage, no new beetles or larvae are visible.

The larvae wasps die on their own as soon as they no longer find host animals – without leaving any residue.

For complete control, a period of 1 to 1.5 years with repeated applications is recommended.

Scents should be avoided, as they can disrupt the orientation of the chalcid wasps. However, mechanical traps such as beetle traps are possible.

Yes – they are an effective, chemical-free solution for warehouses, mills, museums or historic buildings with sensitive inventory.
